Just wanted to share. Most of us M50TU engine owners have at one time or another came across the subject of vanos faults and perhaps even the Beisan Systems seal kit.

I put the repair off for years and I just have to say, HUGE mistake!

My car had the most uneven powerband of any vehicle I have ever owned. right at 3.5K rpm the power would kick in like someone had sprayed nitrous in or something. Engine always lagged in the bottom end since my ownership.

After replacing the vanos seals, SMOOTH power! I took it out for a hard run and the rear whipped out on me unexpectedly from the change in power output.

Bottom line: BEST $30 EVER SPENT ON THE E36!

If your like me, considering it but pushing it off, dont delay.

Its made out to be more difficult than it is. Really nothing to it. While I do own the proper bmw specialty tools, one can do the job without any special tools.
