First off, I would like to welcome you to thebmwforum.com. Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or concerns you may have or if you are having issues using the website.
After you read this guide, please take a little time to introduce yourself in the "New Member Introduction" section. Also, feel free to post some pictures of your BMW in the section your BMW fits into.
The layout of the forum is meant to be user friendly and all of the features that are included are meant to accomplish that goal.

There is a Gallery system on the forum where you can create personal albums to show off your BMW. You can also upload photos of your bimmer to the public albums. Just choose the album that your BMW fits into and upload your photos.

The first section is the "New Member Introduction" section where you can welcome our new members to the forum or if you are just joining, you can introduce yourself.

The second section is "BMW forums by Model" which is dedicated to each series and model that BMW has produced. This is the area you should post questions you have about a particular model of BMW. Each category for each model has DIY's and Mods that other members have done to their BMW's. This will help you spruce up your ride if that is something you are into. You will also find a classifieds section in each category where you can find parts or sell parts for that particular model BMW.

The third section is "General BMW Discussion". In this section, you will find categories like BMW Diagnostics, Suspension, Electronics and Audio, etc.. Also, the "Off Topic" area is located in this section. You must be registered to use the "Off Topic" area.

The forth and final section is "BMW forums by Region". This area is separated by region. Each region has categories for each state of the US. So if you are looking to get local and find members that live in your area, this is a great area to post in.

To make your viewing easier, we have included a feature where you can hover your mouse cursor over a post that is in the list and a little tooltip will pop up giving you the first part of the post. Also, on the right side of the list, the last person who posted in that thread will be listed. You can also hover over that persons name and you will get a popup of part of the last post in that thread.

If you would like to be notified when a new thread or post is posted in any section, you can click on the "Subscribe to this forum" and "Subscribe to this thread" at the top right and bottom left of the forum category and thread.

If you don't want to subscribe to a thread and get notifications when a new post is posted but you want to remember the thread for future reference, you can click on the link at the bottom left of the thread that says "Add thread to Favorites". These threads will now be available to you by going to your "Control Panel" at the top left of the forum.

The "Control Panel" is where you can go to make any changes to your preferences, change your password, change your email address etc.. Your mail box is also located here where you can check your "inbox", "sent items" and your "trash can".

If you are having trouble posting images or links or if you need other assistance, you can click on the "Help" link at the top right of the forum. Here you will find information on how to post.
